This is my christmas wonder land that I did on the i pad .

Boat or Submarine

Question/Goal/ problem

What shape of container will hold the most weight ?

Hypothesis We have chosen a bowl because it will hold more weight because it is bigger.

Materials

Container filled with water, modelling clay, old coins

Method (What I did)

Create a boat out of modelling clay.

Fill the container with water.

Place the boat carefully onto the water so it floats.

One at a time , put coins carefully into the boat . Count how many coins are in the boat before it sinks.

Observation/ Analyse We put the shape into the water and put coins on it and it sink. I think it happened is because it was bigger on the sides and it sunk.

Conclusion  (What I discovered about floating/ sinking )

Force

Hypothesis: the water will feel light  and it will stick to the side.

I predict that that the water will come out of the basket when you spin it.

Variables we must control:

liquid	so  when you spin there will be the same amount of water in each bucket.
bucket	so the other person has the same thing you have.
body	you need to  control arms and legs..
arms	so you can not let go.

Results:

Was your prediction correct? no because I thought it will come out. What happened and why? What happened was it stayed  flat on the bottom of the bucket. Why because the air pushes  the water so it stays flat.

Mathletics

Reflection for mathletics:
Something I was pleased with was getting to do it better because I have not done it before.

I really enjoyed learning how to do the lines because I did not know how too do the lines.

Something I found hard was to form a leaf because you had to do it with lines.

Something that made me think was which line goes where

because I had not done the lines before.

Something I want to get better at is to get the square the right size.

(What can I do about it is to try more harder.)

Skeleton art

This is my skeleton art work that I did.It took me a long time to do and I did it with magazings. I did the hair with paper. It is a collage. I hope you like it.

The Prota (India cooking)

Ingredients

1 Cauliflower

1 Onions

2  Potatoes

Coriander

Coriander powder

Wheat Flour

Water

Plain flour

Cummin seeds

Salt

Equipment

Pan

Rolling pin

What to do

Step One: Get the dough and roll it it to a ball with your hands.

Step Two: Put the ball into the flour .

Step Three: Get the ball out of the flour and put it on the table and roll it with the   rolling pin.

Step Four: Put the  cauliflower, leeks and onion  on top of the dough on the table.

Step Five:  Roll it down again lightly.

Step Six:  Put it on the pan.

Step Seven: Get the oil  and spread  it around the porata.

Step Eight: Put it on a plate.

Step Nine: Eat it.

We did  prota in the starf room.I had a turn and It was so fun.It does not take long to cook only a few minutes. Hemanis mum come  and helped us do it and she got all the ingredients.

The taj malhal

This is me and Jessicas Taj Mahal . It took us one day to do it.We did our painting today.It is light yellow on the top and dark yellow on the rist of the Taj Mahal. The sky is  blue and it has a clould. It is a bilding in India.It is a lovely place and it is beautiful as well.

My animal report(long tailed macaque India animal)

This is my animal report and I did it because it is for our topic and I like to reseash animals that I do and It amazed me The long tailed macaque. It is amazing animal to do and If you read my repot you will find out more about this animal I did at witing time.

Introduction

I chose the Lion tailed macaque because it is interesting and it looks amazing. It is a great animal I had not heard it before. I like its mane and it looks like a monkey. that is why I chose it.  

Diet

fruit, leaves,nuts, insects, peanuts , little birds and seeds and flowers.

Predators

long snakes, birds and large mammal.

Habitat

Southwestern mounts. India,africa,Asia and japan.

Description

The lion macaque is long. Five months and a half after mating  the female lion tailed macaque gives birth. 18 inches long (45.7). They are 2 foot in length (60.9). It looks like a monkey and a lion as well and they have a very long tail that is why it is called long tailed macaque.  It is a mammal. 33 pounds(14.96). In  these places India,africa,Asia and japan It can be snowing or hot and dry. The japanese macaque lives in the cold mountains. They find shelter in buildings and beneath cars in cities and towns.   The lion  tailed macaque can live up to 30 years. They are not found anywhere else in the world but Asia and Africa . Females weigh up to 11kg and the male weigh up to 15kg. There is not  2,500 in the world.

Today we did maths and we had to make a chart and I made one as you can see and up the top is my score and the percentages.  Day one is the lowest score I got - six. This could be because it was the first day and I was a bit unsure of what we were doing. My best scores were on days 6 and 9. This is because I was practising the worksheets that Mr Moriarty gave us.I added up all of my scores and I divided  it by 9 (I was away one day) which gives me an average of 15.4.

We did a play today and we had Dylah, Tyrone, Tracey, Ollie, Ellis and Nikitah. We acted and I was riroriro Dylan is hihi,Tracey was piwakawaka,Tyrone is tui ,Ellis was koremakoe, Ollie was the director  with the IPad.

Dear Ken Catran

I loved your book  you did and the teacher MrM read us the book to the whole class.

The whole class made a trailer about your book and we had groups of four and they turned out amazing  and we put all of them on our class vimeo so we can put them on our blogs so everyone can see the trailer.

My favorite part of the book was when the cops came and arrears Mr anderson and Mr mills  they do  not get all of  the money they found and stoll. They do not get the guns ether.

My favorite character  was Anna. Because she was a nice friend to Sam. She helps Sam all the time when she asked him. She likes to help and be good as  well.

Earthquake

08/07/13

We’re all doing maths then bam  a earthquake  hit us. Up everyone got and got underneath the table. Then the bell went off so we had to go to the courts and sit down. Then they talk to us about what we had to do when a earthquake came. She said roll into a ball or get under a table.  After she said that she said teachers get your children and go back to your classrooms and we did and it was over.



This was amazing, a fantastic true story.

Fantail (piwakawaka in mare )

Fantails are nice wonderful and beautiful. Fantails like to live and they are amazing birds. They do not disturb you so you should or kill them at all. they travel around the word sometimes . They are harmless to people. they are native to new zealand.

• Fantails can be found in australia

• Fantails eat insects

• Fantails are very good at catching insects in the air.

Fantails are living bird but do not kill them because they are in you house. they like to follow you because we are kicking up bugs and they like to eat them. There predators are cats, rat, stoats and mynas. The south island fantail has more white on its tail then the North Island fantails. They  are brown,grey and white. They eat insects. They are a native bird and they are friendly as well. they are 16 cm in size. They nest from three to five times each year from august to january. They lay three of four eggs. The color of the egg is a cream color. They have a chocolate color underneath them. You can not keep them as pets.

HABITATS

city gardens,towns,trees and main forests.
