The Herrick House

My book  is called the dark herrick secret. I drew the picture because it goes with the title . The herrick house is broken because no one has lived in it for a long time and it has not been fixed yet. My cover looks scary so what type of audience would be suitable to read this book?

My book is about  a dark  secret   in the herrick house.   They  find the cellar  that is at the bottom of the  house and they find two people that are side by side and they are dead .  My picture  is dark  and scary  and that matches my story.

My title is up the top because I  liked it there and it stands out. I choose  the colours because  it  is a dark secret  I like that it’s scary.   I used a normal style because  then you can read it instead of not reading it properly .

The book is suitable for 8 and over because then people that are younger will be scared and have nightmares so that is why it is suitable.

This is my christmas wonder land that I did on the i pad .

Force

Hypothesis: the water will feel light  and it will stick to the side.

I predict that that the water will come out of the basket when you spin it.

Variables we must control:

Variables	Control
liquid	so  when you spin there will be the same amount of water in each bucket.
bucket	so the other person has the same thing you have.
body	you need to  control arms and legs..
arms	so you can not let go.

Method:

Results:

Was your prediction correct? no because I thought it will come out. What happened and why? What happened was it stayed  flat on the bottom of the bucket. Why because the air pushes  the water so it stays flat.

Mathletics

Reflection for mathletics:
Something I was pleased with was getting to do it better because I have not done it before.

I really enjoyed learning how to do the lines because I did not know how too do the lines.

Something I found hard was to form a leaf because you had to do it with lines.

Something that made me think was which line goes where

because I had not done the lines before.

Something I want to get better at is to get the square the right size.

(What can I do about it is to try more harder.)

This is my skeleton art work that I did.It took me a long time to do and I did it with magazings. I did the hair with paper. It is a collage. I hope you like it.

The taj malhal

This is me and Jessicas Taj Mahal . It took us one day to do it.We did our painting today.It is light yellow on the top and dark yellow on the rist of the Taj Mahal. The sky is  blue and it has a clould. It is a bilding in India.It is a lovely place and it is beautiful as well.

My animal report(long tailed macaque India animal)

This is my animal report and I did it because it is for our topic and I like to reseash animals that I do and It amazed me The long tailed macaque. It is amazing animal to do and If you read my repot you will find out more about this animal I did at witing time.

Introduction

I chose the Lion tailed macaque because it is interesting and it looks amazing. It is a great animal I had not heard it before. I like its mane and it looks like a monkey. that is why I chose it.  

Diet

fruit, leaves,nuts, insects, peanuts , little birds and seeds and flowers.

Predators

long snakes, birds and large mammal.

Habitat

Southwestern mounts. India,africa,Asia and japan.

Description

The lion macaque is long. Five months and a half after mating  the female lion tailed macaque gives birth. 18 inches long (45.7). They are 2 foot in length (60.9). It looks like a monkey and a lion as well and they have a very long tail that is why it is called long tailed macaque.  It is a mammal. 33 pounds(14.96). In  these places India,africa,Asia and japan It can be snowing or hot and dry. The japanese macaque lives in the cold mountains. They find shelter in buildings and beneath cars in cities and towns.   The lion  tailed macaque can live up to 30 years. They are not found anywhere else in the world but Asia and Africa . Females weigh up to 11kg and the male weigh up to 15kg. There is not  2,500 in the world.

We did a play today and we had Dylah, Tyrone, Tracey, Ollie, Ellis and Nikitah. We acted and I was riroriro Dylan is hihi,Tracey was piwakawaka,Tyrone is tui ,Ellis was koremakoe, Ollie was the director  with the IPad.

Earthquake

08/07/13

We’re all doing maths then bam  a earthquake  hit us. Up everyone got and got underneath the table. Then the bell went off so we had to go to the courts and sit down. Then they talk to us about what we had to do when a earthquake came. She said roll into a ball or get under a table.  After she said that she said teachers get your children and go back to your classrooms and we did and it was over.



This was amazing, a fantastic true story.

Fantail (piwakawaka in mare )

Fantails are nice wonderful and beautiful. Fantails like to live and they are amazing birds. They do not disturb you so you should or kill them at all. they travel around the word sometimes . They are harmless to people. they are native to new zealand.

• Fantails can be found in australia

• Fantails eat insects

• Fantails are very good at catching insects in the air.

Fantails are living bird but do not kill them because they are in you house. they like to follow you because we are kicking up bugs and they like to eat them. There predators are cats, rat, stoats and mynas. The south island fantail has more white on its tail then the North Island fantails. They  are brown,grey and white. They eat insects. They are a native bird and they are friendly as well. they are 16 cm in size. They nest from three to five times each year from august to january. They lay three of four eggs. The color of the egg is a cream color. They have a chocolate color underneath them. You can not keep them as pets.

AMAZING RACE

Here we are we got our first letter  3,2,1 GO! Samuel ripped the envelope. He said we had to get sticks and go to the dodgeball  court and spell out your  animal name only one.  We chose panda and then Mr M took a photo of it and handed the next letter to us. Then I rip it open we ran to the dining room.  We had to make Kitawa fadge. We did it with biscuits and butter and egg. We mix it and put it in the fridge.  Then we got the next letter.We got to do boot camp or the smart test and we chose the smart test .  We got it right we got the next letter it said go and do the puzzle in the hall and we figured it out.   Then Ms Hill gave as the next letter and it said go to the kayak we went in to a double one with me and Samuel in it when we got half way I accidentaly hit Samuel on the head with a paddle and I said sorry and he said ouch. We finally got their  i put it it in my life jacket on. When we got back we read it and it said go and do the confidence course  and we  did it.  Then we got the next one it said go and do the wire bridge  and we waited for the other group and we got on it and i was the second one and the whole team made it and we came 4th place then we went  back to our dorms then we got called to the dining room and i went.

This is a piece of writing I did today and it took me a long time and I did all of this. I loved writing it and I am proud of it.

Camp Reflection

Reflection for Camp

My goal for camp was to care for others.

I achieved this because I cared for others  and I did it with my group and others.

Something I was pleased with was team work that was going around the place

and I liked it because when someone else needs help you can help them when you can.

I really enjoyed learning about the rivers we saw and the trees because you can learn all about them when you already don't know about them.

Something I found hard was walking up hill and  sometimes down. Something that made me think was how to get down from here because it was slippery and wet

My top 5 favourite things about camp were:

Masterchef

Masterchef

Brunch then lunch then dinner then dessert. It was challenging and fantastic to make all of the food in our groups even though some people in our group could not have dairy milk. So they made something else and it was nice to respect that. They cooked  it thrmselves and they were proud  as well. I liked master chef.

Caving

Caving

I am in the cave we had to do the commando cave with no torch and we had to crawl in the mud because it was a muddy and wet cave. It was awesome but the wetas in the next cave and they are so big and they stayed still  because they do not like people seeing them and they were scary and brown. The wetas are in the caves on the roofs and sometimes on the side of the caves and the caves are awesome but the time when I got my shoes wet on the last cave and it felt weird and we had a choice go back in the caves or go back to camp and I put my hand up for go back to camp because it was cold .

Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing

When our class(room 16) went to Karamu School to rock climb and I went second and it was a little bit scary for me.  Someone hit Emma  in the face and it was by accident. We first talked about our self and we learnt their names and their names are Keyzia and Haley were kind to us and in my team is Emma and Crighton so we have 2 seniors and 3 kids in our team. It was fun climbing up and I had two turns on it but Emma had only one turn on it and I liked it so much and the other activity I liked as well. I enjoyed everything else. At the end we had to say thank you and their names as well. Mr Ross said to Emma what did you have for breakfast and she said a banana and Mr Ross is funny and awesome as well. I like my seniors people as well.
